Youth Programs Coordinator

  • Responsible for 3 different youth programs to help local teens engage in marine science and conservation.
  • Manage and support roughly 50 teens between all 3 of my programs and support the Aquarium's large Adult Volunteer Program as well.
  • Supported the organization's DEAI efforts by implementing changes in outreach strategies and making programs more accessible.
  • Delivered and developed volunteer training for both adult and youth volunteers.
  • Coordinated beach cleanups.
  • Completed bimonthly analysis and reading of water quality samples for Surfrider's Blue Water Task Force.
  • Worked with Midcoast Watersheds Council to conduct eDNA testing with a group of teen volunteers.
  • Started a microplastics community science project to help teens learn more about plastic pollution.
  • Provide career exploration support for teens to help them learn about and gain the skills to pursue a career in marine science and education.
