Summary

I am a hard-working, full time student with extensive physical therapy and adaptive sport/recreation experience. I have focused on comprehensive team approaches, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and nutrition to help patients achieve their physical health and wellbeing goals. Much of my experience is through direct patient care and rehabilitation, including geriatric post-operative care, preventive care, and fall precautions. Using my experiences through assisted yoga, wheelchair basketball, and kayaking for patients with cognitive and physical disabilities, I was able to conduct research on a potential international expansion program for adaptive sports. Some of the most rewarding work I do is working with wounded in action Veterans.

I am seeking to expand my understanding of various treatments and techniques within the field of physical therapy in a more formal and structured setting. I have a strong desire to expand awareness and the importance of adaptive sports programs for people living with physical and cognitive disabilities. I further seek to promote the importance of physical preventative care among the Geriatric community. I would seek to incorporate my knowledge into a well rounded comprehensive care plan, incorporating important aspects in the fields of physical therapy, occupational therapy and nutrition.
