Being in the program for 2 years, I learned about to become a leader and speaker when it comes to presenting myself in front of others. With the current issues on guns and social media, I made a choice to join the affirmative side and debate.
Description: The Stanford Liver Cancer Research program focuses on researching and promoting a healthier community through hepatitis B and liver cancer prevention.
My service:
I worked on a project collaborating with a private boba shop to advocate for Hepatitis B. After researching on the biology on Hepatitis B and what actions can prevent liver cancer, I created cup holders, stickers, and an informational card on way to protect from getting liver cancer. Description: The Turner-UCLA Allied Health internship provides learning opportunities for high school students & recent graduates to learn about careers in entry-level, allied health professions; providing entry towards underrepresented careers in medicine.
My service:
40+ hours of shadowing 100+ medical careers at Ronald Reagan Medical Center. Attended guest panels, didactics, skill-set workshops, and engaged in residential students life on campus. CPR & Stop the Bleed certified. Post-internship monthly workshops and 1:1 mentoring. Eligible for a $6K scholarship towards an allied health training program.
