• Perform comprehensive physical assessments and evaluation of newborns immediately following delivery
• Assign APGAR scores, assess vital signs, administer newborn medications according to hospital policy
• Identify and respond rapidly to changes in newborn condition, collaborating with NICU nurses and respiratory therapists, pediatricians and obstetric teams.
• Provide compassionate emotional support to families during routine and high-risk deliveries in a fast-paced, high-volume labor and delivery unit.
• Provide support and comfort to grieving patient and family after loss.

• Educating new parents on how to properly care for infants by instructing parents on bottle feeding, bathing, circumcision care and breastfeeding.
• Monitoring and assessing mother and newborn after delivery to ascertain proper healing and recovery.
• Assisting mothers in establishing breastfeeding relationships with infants.

• Assist new mothers and father on how to care for their infant, including breastfeeding, bottle feeding, bathing, cord care and circumcision care.
• Perform hourly rounding on mother and baby to ensure needs are met
• Assist mother to restroom
• Maintain updated stats on mothers vital signs
• Perform 24hr Critical Cardiac Heart Disease (CCHD) screening and obtain PKU and bilirubin blood work
• Alert nurses of abnormalities or potential issues with mother and/or baby
• Assist physician/provider during circumcisions

Provide exceptional care to patients in the greater Atlanta Metropolitan Area. Assisting providers in an initial, annual, and problem gynecological and obstetrical visits. Assisting providers during procedures, such as, IUD insertion/removals, Nexplanon insertion/removals, biopsies, and ultrasounds.
