Many positions within high school theater company, such as Secretary, Lighting Designer/Leader, Actor, and Director for all four years. Member of schools Equity team, also for all four years.
In high school, secretary of school's theater company, in which I held many responsibilities, such as taking notes during meetings, pushing important information about regarding auditions, audition processes, meetings, events, rehearsals, etc. I also reached out to many higher-ups at school such as various principals and activities directors to schedule events that coincided with other school events such as sports, assemblies, etc. One bigger responsibility though, as officer in general, was to make sure that everyone in the company was getting along and making sure that everyone felt accepted no matter what.
I was a member of my high school's equity team which entailed:
Working diligently and respectfully with people from all walks of life
Working with others in order to improve the quality of the inclusion and equity at my school, and make everyone, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, etc., feel accepted within the school.
I directed a 20 minute one-act, notably with a team of unexperienced actors. This entailed me working diligently with others acting skills, and directing them toward the right direction in what acting choices they should make in order to make the show fit my vision, as well as their own vision of the show.
I was an actor in various different plays and self-written/directed One-Acts. This entailed me taking initiative to memorize lines, collaborate with other actors, and work quickly and under pressure in order to perform my best, and also look my best on stage since we were often expected to get ourselves ready; do our own makeup, hair, and dress ourselves in our costumes.
I created different lighting designs for various plays and musicals, which meant that I thought creatively to come up with colors, aesthetics, and scenery in order to make certain scenes feel different ways. I also directed a crew of usually underclassmen in hanging, aiming, and working general lighting equipment.
