Under the purview of Blair Cutright, Coordinator of Learning Services, Case Management, & Academic Support, I worked as a Peer Mentor at Juniata College. The first half of the year this role was a mini field experience for a social work course and the second half was as an employee. Peer mentoring provided comprehensive experience in working personally with other students to help them achieve their goals, whether academic or personal. The position offered practical skills working in an environment maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. I assisted students in areas such as scheduling, organization, personal and professional relationships, time and task management, connecting with campus resources, and other topics.
