  • Company Overview: The client produces a variety of steel products for automotive, appliance, construction, and manufacturing markets.   • Involved in migration of Mainframe to Microfocus technology using Linux server.
  • As team lead, I was responsible to train the offshore team on new tools being used in Microfocus like Dbeaver, Visual Studio build process, Visual Studio debug and code promote process using Github and Gitlab.
  • Work closely with business teams to gather customer requirements and act as single point of contact for their projects and create tasks in JIRA based upon the initial analysis and communication with all stakeholders.
  • Translate customer requirements into formal requirements, provide estimates and explain requirements to teams to provide optimized and effective solutions. This includes collaborating with client counterparts, brainstorming with stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop the final solution.
  • Participate in building the process for integrating the solution in multiple applications.   • During any enhancement requests by the business, analysis of existing COBOL / CICS / PL1 programs, database queries (IMS / DB2) and jobs (JCL/ESMAC) will be done to determine business rules and code configuration using the Microfocus Visual Studio and Microfocus Enterprise developer tools. The Visual studio debugging tool will be used for analysis of online and batch abends and verify that the processing rules are followed as per the business requirement.
  • Responsible for reviewing the code and test results provided by team members and making sure that product is in accordance with coding and quality standards. Ensuring code integrity and retrofitting in adherence with the coding standards of the client’s enterprise release management practice.
