Summary

Although I have years of clerical experience dating from high school to present, I feel my biggest asset is the 28 years of Lived Experience I have as a result of being a foster parent to over a hundred children, adoptive parent to four and a kinship parent to one. I use these experiences on a daily basis to recruit and support foster, adoptive and kinship families on both the state and local level. I feel deeply the need for families to open up their homes to children and know firsthand the overwhelming numbers of children waiting for forever homes. As foster parents, my husband and I have transitioned 15 of our foster children to adoptive families and I am well equipped to help others understand the process and the importance of transitions and working together in partnership to achieve permanency.

Second to my passion for supporting children from hard places is my love for training and educating families so they can be effective in meeting the needs of the children who come into their homes. Along with that, being able to point families and children to all the many resources available to them, that can help them be the best that they can be.

I appreciate your consideration for this position and as a long time supported of the work that you do, would be honored to come alongside you from a professional standpoint.
