As a current LPN for American Lake VA and a retired soldier, I believe I would be a perfect fit to your team. I strongly feel I am a good fit because I have a wide range of knowledge from my time as a CNA til know including my prior to my military service, my combat medic job and LPN job I had while on active duty during this time frame. Since my time in service, the last 11 years I have continued to grow in my nursing knowledge while I was a family medicine nurse for a few of those years, a public health nurse with leadership roles and then a family medicine nurse again. I also will bring qualities of leadership, professionalism, teamwork and work ethic I learned from my time as a soldier as well as the 11 years since I retired from service. I also bring the knowledge and understanding of a PACT model that is present at the VA.
I have worked in a PACT setting helping our homeless veterans with their health and social needs. I have roomed veterans, asked the reminder questions and have obtained their reason for coming to the VA. I have obtained vitals, reported any abnormal vitals, gave report to provider and the team as a whole. I have worked well with my colleague to provide outstanding care to our veterans.
For the first 3 years I was in a family medicine clinic. Here i did basic check in procedures and anything the doctor needed/wanted me to do within the scope of my practice. Took vitals, placed orders as able, care plans created, and got reason for visit.
Provided care to retirees, veterans, dependents and active duty soldiers dealing with cardiac concerns on the inpatient setting.
Provide both acute as well as trauma related care depending on mission
