Summary

Compassionate professional with experience in special needs coaching and claims service. Skilled in effective communication and building relationships, with a proven track record of implementing positive behavior supports and achieving client satisfaction. Success in disabilities education, hinges on a combination of emotional intelligence, adaptability, and strong instructional skills. These enable educators to create accessible, inclusive, and effective learning environments where all students can thrive.

For the past almost five years, our family has been raising our son who was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and Autism. Once we found out our son's diagnosis, it was determined that I was to become his primary caregiver, which led to the new adaption of skills that came once I left my job at Amica and began the hands on training with our child. From numerous therapist or doctor appointments each week, to at home sessions where I utilize the information given to me from each of his therapists to practice the skills at home, I developed a wealth of knowledge that has continued to grow and flourish over the years. When I went to the very first physical therapy appointment for my son, I was down on the ground with the therapist seeing how she was trying to get him to lift up his head and now I take every piece of information given, along with doing the additional research on my own, to continue to develop my knowledge and understanding of my son's condition and how I can continue to help him not only at home, but how I can have the other people around him continue to help him to achieve the most out of his life.

There are not just physical needs that have to be met, but also the cognitive and emotional. There have been many times over the years where there have been struggles in getting our son to be able to communicate, however, we have been able to work with his therapists to overcome these challenges. I have been able to acquire many tips and tricks of how to help children to learn, communicate, and to express themselves in a healthy way, and I have been able to actually share this information with other parents along the way which has been such a gratifying feeling when I can help someone else.

With all of the hurdles and obstacles that our family has been able to overcome, I am hoping for the opportunity to share my skillset and knowledge with others to help in more ways than, one so that I can put the same smile on another child's face like others do for my son.
