
Police Academy Instructor
I am currently employed by the Cochise County Sheriff's Office as a Corporal assigned to the Douglas/Elfrida area of responsibility patrol division. As required by the Arizona Peace Officer's Standards and Training Board (APOSTB), I am certified as a law enforcement officer. Since graduating from the Southeastern Arizona Law Enforcement Training Center (SALETC) on November 27th, 2014, I have been very proactive within this department, applying/ acquiring extracurricular duties. These duties include but are not limited to, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Operator, Bicycle Unit, Intoxilyzer 8000 Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS), canine handler, and establishing the Cochise County Sheriff's Office Douglas Explorer Post. During my tenure in the United States Coast Guard (USCG), I was assigned to the Pacific Tactical Law Enforcement Team (PACTACLET) as a federal officer. As a qualified tactical operator, I deployed internationally in direct support of the Counter Transnational Organized Crime mission to conduct narcotics and maritime interdiction aboard U.S. and foreign allied military vessels. As a Boarding Officer, I directly supervised and delegated USCG team members aboard suspect vessels in international and foreign seas and ensured proper U.S. law and procedures were enforced. I have deployed on multiple U.S./ allied naval vessels with a total of 7 vessel interdictions, 17 apprehensions, and a total of approximately 4,125 pounds of Marijuana and 16,500 pounds of Cocaine interdicted. During my assignment on U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Sherman, I was part of the evolutions that resulted in the interdiction of more than 25,000 pounds of cocaine to include the interdiction of 4 semi-submersible submarines.
