FAMILY SABBATICAL

April 2014 - March 2015

July 2018 - Current

My husband and I repatriated to the US from Dubai in April 2014. I had to quickly adapt to our new situation because I was going to give birth five weeks later. After the birth of my first child, I had a strong sense of personal responsibility and motivation to become the most nurturing caregiver I could be. I took continuing education courses to learn about childhood education and worked with children of all ages. My second family sabbatical period started after the birth of my second child. I used this time to build positive and nurturing environments to support social and emotional growth of two young children and spouse pre- through post-COVID. I also took up competitive tennis and captained two women's tennis teams which involved managing relationships and conflicts among team members, organizing team building events, and scheduling matches and lineup. I took charge in organizing a Mandarin art camp for 60 children, by partnering with a local business owner, for my children's immersion school, when I realized there wasn't a program that fit the needs for my children. I have repeatedly demonstrated a willingness to help wherever needed volunteering at numerous school functions. I have also been successful working within tight deadlines and limited budget as a parent volunteer organizing small and large group socials for my children's swim team. Now that my children are more independent I feel comfortable and ready to enter back into the workforce and to develop myself for myself.
