Company Driver

Dalton Trucking
Fontana, CA
02.2010 - 11.2013
  • I started as a bottom dump driver. After about six months, I got promoted to transfer driver.
  • During the last two years that I was there, I got paid extra to train new hires. Each new hire had to complete their training in 3 days, or they could not keep the job. As a trainer, I had to make sure the person understood how to pre-trip their truck. That they could problem solve. Figure out their dispatch and plan their drop accordingly. They had to show that they could drive safely. Each day they had to show improvement until the last day when I just sat and watched them and did not have to instruct them on the basic operation of the vehicle, paperwork, etc.
  • I was allowed to park my transfer at home.
  • I was one of five drivers to handle the San Diego area, which was 4 hours from the yard. We delivered very-expensive sand to the horse tracks and golf courses in southern California.
  • Operated company vehicles to transport goods efficiently and safely across various routes.
  • Conducted routine vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.

Contributed as transfer driver until the company ceased operations.
  • All my employment before this was office work, dispatch, field supervisor, sales, loss prevention, and even a year of retail, etc. going back to 1992
