Sampling & Quality Assurance Specialist

Quality Assurance

  • Performed random and monthly house keeping audits, in order to ensure good manufacturing procedures were followed.
  • Performed internal audits on all departments regarding correct and timely instrument calibrations, and to ensure that all standard operational procedures were being followed.
  • Generated approximately 300-400 lot numbers and work orders in JD Edwards/Oracle per month for batches to be produced or maintenance to be performed.
  • Produced copies of all needed batch sheets and product labels for six fully operational plants.
  • Responsible for auditing all batch sheets produced, and ensuring that all standard operational procedures plant wide were followed.
  • Responsible for batch sheet tracking when they were checked out of QA, or had to be returned to production for corrections.
  • Responsible for making updates or adjustment to batch sheets or procedures in order to improve quality.
  • Monitored product standards and quality-control stability programs.
  • Completed deviation forms and recorded findings of inspection processes, collaborating with quality team members and department managers to implement procedural remedies.

Sampling

  • Singularly responsible for processing all Sample Request Forms sent in by email from our Sales Dept. and UL Prospector website.
  • Maintaining an inventory of all products stored in house for sampling purposes, including quantity, expiration dates, & location stored.
  • Maintaining pre-pulled sample inventory in order to streamline sample shipping.
  • Responsible for shipping all products requested domestically and internationally.
  • Providing Certificate of Analysis, Safety Data Sheets, Technical Data Sheets, and Custom Invoices to customers receiving or border agents processing our samples.
  • Responsible for disposal of expired inventory.
  • Working with each plant to pull or repacking samples for special customer requests.

An example would be testing for transmittance. Sample dispersion medium, concentration, and wavelengths vary depending on product characteristics. Product types varied from powder to liquid thickeners, UV absorbers, optical brighteners, conditioners, and cosmetic additives.
  • Coordinated and performed analytical tests to comply with established standards and specifications.
  • Modified and adapted standard methods and procedures to solve analytical problems.
