• The Dream Catcher of Los Angeles, CA, is a therapeutic riding center to improve the lives of children, adults, and veterans with cognitive, physical, and emotional disabilities through the benefits of horseback riding and other equestrian activities. This was a wonderful experience for me to learn and see how the program helps others with disabilities, as well contributing to my personal growth through community involvement. 06/2015, 08/2015.
• Studied abroad in Havana, Cuba, took a course that was offered by my major called Chicano and Latino Studies, to learn about the Latino Transnational Experience in the Caribbean. I appreciated this eye-opening, enriching experience of exposure to a different society and perspective than the one to which I am accustomed. 12/2018, 01/2019.
• Community Helpline, A crisis and referral hotline to anyone in need of emotional support. I was trained as an active listener supporting individuals and families throughout the community. My peers and I supported and listened to callers daily, providing them with someone to listen non-judgmentally and empathetically. 06/2018, 09/2018
