I started my law enforcement career at the Texas Tech Police Department. I started with Texas Tech as a security guard and eventually worked my way up to a police cadet and graduated the police academy in August of 2018 from the South Plains College Law Enforcement Academy. After completion of the police academy I began my field training program as a police officer with Texas Tech PD and after successful completion of the field training program, served as a patrol officer with Texas Tech PD for 14 months. While an officer with Texas Tech PD I investigated several offenses such as theft, domestic violence, DWI's, traffic crashes etc... I left Texas Tech PD to be closer to my then fiance, now wife, in the Austin area. I then served as a Patrol Deputy with the Hays County Sheriff's Office in San Marcos, TX. I was primarily assigned to the Baker District which serves the Dripping Springs and South Austin area of Hays County. While employed with the Sheriff's Office I investigated and dealt with calls for service such as thefts, robberies, aggravated assaults, family violence, homicides, suicides, fatality crashes, mental health calls, pursuits etc... Me and my wife decided to move back to the Lubbock area after starting a family, where I regained employment as a police officer with Texas Tech PD and am still currently employed. I currently serve as a field training officer for night shift and as an active instructor for Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT).
