- Coordinate activities and provide technical expertise in the planning and implementation of strategies and management plans for Coho Salmon recovery.
- Provide expert analysis of state and federal policies and legislation affecting anadromous fisheries, including bill analysis, and provide technical review of research programs and scientific research projects, and listing under the California Endangered Species Act (CESA).
- Lead of technical recovery teams, including the Statewide Coho Salmon Recovery Team.
- Writing and/or editing scientific reports papers, decision memos, policy documents, and working on a wide range of other fishery and other natural resource issues, as well as leading technical work groups and giving scientific presentations.

Over the course of my career, I have published numerous reports and peer-reviewed scientific papers in freshwater fish ecology and conservation and have made many presentations at national and international conferences and workshops. I was an invited member of the editorial boards of two science journals: Fisheries Ecology and Management and Regulated Rivers: Research and Management. I am also an invited member of the Freshwater Fish Specialist Group of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
