My great-grandfather ran a lumber company and grain Mill. My granddad, clear and select cut timber, ran a sawmill,resaw , in-trim and a planer. He exported logs to Germany, sold sawdust, bark, slabs, shavings, barbecue wood and raised five kids. My dad drove log trucks in high school and continued on with the family business. The mill is still there and I still am involved with my family as much as possible.

I initially started working, being somewhat new to the pipe industry. I was hired on as a common laborer at first with minimum experience of controlling water to provide safe travels for all, led by the DOT. We put in 20 ft sections of 22" drain pipe alongside the highway ,new sidewalks, bored underneath the highway, paved new roads, ran silk bags, and pumps. I graded with the skid steer and ran the front-end. Due to soil type,location,and also tropical storms; I believe Florida is one of the more complicated places to lay pipe in America. It was pretty cool.

Morgan Corp. began in 1945 evolving into a diversified heavy civil company, becoming one of the largest grading companies in the Southeast.

I worked with a young man not too much older than I, whose work motto is safety first quality second and production always comes last . Mark is based out of Charlotte North Carolina . We were the team when the professionals had to come in because our team was the best in Mecklenburg County (Charlotte) and surrounding areas ..but not too far because DOT, ONSITE and City of Charlotte kept us busy when the communities safety was at state.
