Summary

Master Sergeant Stetson Young distinguished himself in the performance of outstanding service to the United States
as Maintenance Flight Chief, 22d Maintenance Squadron, 22d Maintenance Group, 22d Air Refueling Wing,
McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas. During this period, Sergeant Young led a 30-member team responsible for the
sustainment of eight KC-135s, in support of Olympic Titan intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance
operations. His team generated fifty-six sorties enabling the vital detection of foreign missile launches for three
combatant commands. Additionally, Sergeant Young showcased his transformational leadership skills when he led
the squadron's largest Support Section. His drive and vision resulted in the complete overhaul of twenty programs
and the creation of a digital inventory process to track five thousand equipment items valued at fifteen million
dollars. These efforts were instrumental to the execution of seven thousand sorties and solidified his selection as the
group Maintenance Support Professional of the quarter. Finally, Sergeant Young guided five work centers through
35,000 maintenance actions and fourteen major aircraft inspections. His overall superior acumen and outstanding
performance contributed to the group’s 2021 Air Mobility Command Daedalian Trophy win and his recognition as
the wing’s 2022 Chief Master Sergeant Fred Archer Award recipient. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of
Sergeant Young reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
