Steve Smith

I from a young age thru college and into my late 30’s was an Athlete. Playing Football, Track and Baseball. I played Football from High School thru College. Then in 1979-80 I played Semi Pro for the Twin City Cougars in Marysville Calif. our team latter became the Professional Team in the USFL Oakland Invaders.

Then in 1971 I was hired as a laborer for Surface Engineering Inc. within a year I was running heavy equipment all types. Within 4 years I was an expert on Bull Dozers, Backhoes, Excavators, Self Propelled Asphalt Pavers, Compactors all types and Scrappers.

Music was a part of my early education playing both Guitar and Keyboard’s as well as singing. I was a worship leader at New Life Assembly Church from 1975-1996. As a song Writer I won some awards in Nashville and in 1986 signed a Recording contract with Straight Ahead Productions. My first Album with Straight Ahead Productions “The Mind is a Battlefield” won 4 Awards for Song Writing, Vocalist, and New Band, the

“Steve Smith Band”. My Producer was Skip Konte from the Grammy winning band

“3 Dog Night”. My Band became a touring band traveling for over 20 years to 19 Countries on 3 Continents. 3 years latter we signed a new contract with Patmos/ Parrelex records in Jackson Mississippi and James Griffin.

Married in 1975 to Debbie Smith. Married now for 49 years. Touring was a grind on the family so I would take breaks and go back to Construction and Heavy Equipment Operator.

I joined Local 3 Operating Engineers Union.

Total Years Construction experience 17.

I have 4 Daughters and 10 grandchildren.

I have never been arrested.

I have never drank alcohol

I have never done drugs of any kind.
