In 2004, I was honored to receive a nomination for an award from my co-workers following a critical incident at a local restaurant. During a meal break with a fellow officer, patrons urgently approached our table to report that a woman in another area was choking.  I went to her location to assist her and executed the Heimlich maneuver, successfully clearing her airway and restoring her ability to breathe. I promptly contacted emergency services, who arrived on the scene and provided necessary first aid.

Additionally, my co-workers recognized my dedication and contributions on the patrol shift, nominating me for my exceptional performance. I led all patrol officers in key department statistics that year while also maintaining a strong presence at numerous community events throughout Bristol, Virginia. This dual commitment to both emergency response and community engagement reflects my passion for service and my dedication to the safety and well-being of our community.
