• Developed and implemented a rework process for fiber optic assemblies affected by adhesive bleed during ESS oven cycles; designed controlled heating and removal method for 2216 epoxy potted optical lenses to reduce scrap and salvaging defective assemblies and parts.
• Created a clamp and heat riveting method that eliminated rivet failures on three piece shrouds. Standardized across production lines, improving first pass yield and reducing rework and scrap.
• Resolved recurring defects caused by improper wire stripping on a Schleuniger Multistrip machine by programming a new cut-to-length and scoring process, enabling operators to finish manually which drastically reduced scrap and eliminated wire/drain damage and improved first pass yield.
• Collaborate with engineering to design fixturing for sub-assemblies, improving assembly accuracy and reducing human error.
• Helped modify processes for over molding solder connections by reheating and cleaning hot glue, enabling rework and reducing scrap.
• Developed and standardized a cost saving rework process for NVG goggle head mount harnesses, recovering high value plated aluminum parts from potted connectors for reuse, significantly cutting scrap cost.
