Steven Skaggs

I have worked in the construction industry for more than 50 years as a contractor and a member of the Operating Engineers in California and Alaska operating and maintaining heavy equipment and trucks on construction projects and in the oil field. I have held a commercial drivers license since I was 18 years old and continue to move equipment on a daily basis for my own jobs as well as other companies using tilt deck and low bed trailers. I specialize in constructing rural roads and driveways in the steep terrain near my home in Winters, California. I anticipate retiring from my business and the Operating Engineers very soon and would like to continue working as a heavy equipment operator. I recently toured a Caterpillar dealership and saw the new D5 dozers that were being prepared for Cal Fire. These are the same machines that I use on a regular basis. I hope to put this experience to work for you.
