The Internship Trainee working in the Renal Department at Brigham and Women's Hospital, gaining hands-on experience in clinical and research settings. The role involves supporting ongoing research projects focused on renal physiology and pathology, utilizing a range of advanced molecular and cellular techniques.
- Laboratory Techniques & Analysis:
Perform SDS-PAGE for protein separation.
Execute Western Blotting to analyze protein expression.
Conduct qPCR (Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction) assays for gene expression analysis.
Carry out RNA Isolation procedures to prepare samples for downstream applications.
Run ELISA assays to quantify proteins and other biomolecules.
- Cell Culture & Molecular Biology:
Maintain Mammalian Cell Culture environments ensuring cell viability and consistency.
Perform Transfection experiments to introduce nucleic acids into cells.
Conduct Seeding procedures to prepare cells for various assays.
- Imaging & Data Analysis:
Use Confocal Microscopy for high-resolution imaging of cellular structures.
