Sumin Kang

▪ Delivered speeches every weekend as a youth election assistant during the 2021 Korea Special Election about the necessity of adopting free school lunches and sex education policy, and ultimately pushed the candidate to make such promises for youth.
▪ Drafted a policy proposal regarding measures to reform the country's current pension system under the guidance of a researcher of the Korean conservative party's think tank ‘여의도연구원’.
▪ Planned a discussion table session between teenagers and election candidates about the contentious issue of abolishing private high schools and the revision of college admissions standards. (one candidate commented, "You are the future of Korea!")
▪ Planned special election campaigns near the school areas during the 2022 Korea Presidential Election and discussed current education policies and concerns in school with students.

▪ Hosted the online forum for supporting Myanmar's democracy so that people could hear from young activists there about their actual circumstances, unfiltered by the media, and to talk about what teenagers could do to support Myanmar. (two burmese teen activists, professors of international relations and more than 60 students joined the forum)

▪ Donated $300, which our group collected through campaigns and forum revenues, to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees’ mission to build shelters for Myanmar refugees and supply daily necessities.
▪ Assisted the Korean Christian missionary's secret plan to deliver books and educational supplies to the Kaya community in Myanmar, an ethnic minority that had fled to a monastery as a result of a military strike.

▪ Volunteered to teach 40 childrens from local daycare centers, who couldn't aord private education for their special interest, providing the twelve-class curriculum of subjects including astronomy, music, and drama over three months.
▪ Volunteered to teach politics for 30 elementary students with the project-based courses including debates about social issues, policy-making projects, and mock presidential elections, and our goal was to help the students develop their ability to critically think and express their opinions with the lack of political education in the public school curriculum.
