I have worked as a privates caregiver for almost thirty years.
I started with a Cancer patient and I have been a caregiver to Alzheimer patients, lot of limb patients, and with people dealing with deep depression.
I thrive on caregiving.
My last charge was with a gentleman that was bed bound due to depression.
Within three months, he was walking, talking, enjoying the outdoors, playing cards and listening to music.
With my Alzheimer experience, I do not argue with my charge.
I realize that my attitude, which is great,,, that I can change the feelings of my clients.
I had one Dementia patient that wanted to go home to North Carolina.
I would pack her up, drive on back roads and when we arrived back to her house, she felt as though she did visit North Carolina.
