I am a doctorally prepared, board-certified pediatric physical therapist and adjunct faculty instructor who has also trained as a child development specialist. I strive to continually integrate evidence-based practice within a biopsychosocial model of care in order to provide the best care possible. I learn something new and exciting every day from my patients, families, students, and colleagues.
Provided assessment and treatment to infants and toddlers with head-shape differences using the DOC Band Cranial Remodeling Orthosis. Licensed as a PT in 15 US states in order to provide clinical coverage in over 30 clinics as a national traveler. ABC-certified fitter of orthotics (CFo).
Adjust instructor in Erikson Institute's Masters in Child Development program, Infant Studies' certificate program, and Infant Toddler Credential Competency Pilot Project. Taught Infant/Toddler Development, Infant/Toddler Assessment, and Applied Developmental Neuroscience. Have taught in-person and on-line, using Blackboard and Canvas.
Provided outpatient physical therapy services to infants and children with a range of diagnoses, birth to age 12, in a pediatric rehabilitation clinic. Collaborated with colleagues in NICU and Developmental Follow-up Clinic. Participated in marketing, mentoring, and program development.
Provided physical therapy services and Health & Wellness education to children, ages 3-21, at a school for children with autism. Participated in IEP development and conferences, mentoring, grant writing, and staff education.
Provided outpatient physical therapy, aquatic physical therapy, and home-based Early Intervention services to children, birth to age 18. Collaborated with orthotists and seating/mobility specialists on bracing and adaptive equipment needs. Provided clinical supervision to DPT students as well as supervision of PTAs.
Provided physical therapy to children, birth to age 15, in an outpatient clinic, therapeutic pool, and summer camp. Collaborated with multidisciplinary teams including orthotists, prosthetists, physiatrists, OT, SLP, and developmental pediatricians to provide comprehensive care for children with various congenital, developmental, orthopedic, and neuromotor conditions.
Completed two clinical internships as part of my Erikson Institute graduate training. First, at Erikson Institute’s Fussy Baby Network and second, as a member of the University of Illinois Chicago Hospital’s NICU Developmental Support team.
