Department of Cutaneous Oncology:

• Using oncology-specific clinical knowledge to offer individualized assistance to patients, families and caregivers care for in COC to help overcome healthcare system barriers
• Provides education and resources to facilitate informed decision making and timely access to quality health and psychosocial care throughout all phases of the cancer continuum
• Responsible for routine nursing aspects of the Program, which include clinical care, telephone triage, symptom management, management of patients on oral chemotherapy, data gathering and chart updating, patient education, and monitoring and follow-up of patients

• Cutaneous Oncology.
• Clinical Research Nurse: Melanoma Program: Assist with the design and implementation of clinical trials. Develop study budgets, write consent forms, schedule and assess subject's laboratory and radiologic tests, provide patient and nursing education, administer experimental and other medications per protocol, and provide evidenced base clinical care to ensure patient safety and enhance clinical outcomes. (08/2005- 10/2009)

• Melanoma: Implemented multiple clinical protocols, scheduled subjects tests and appointments, processed clinical specimens, collected and processed data.

• 6 Minute Walk Test: Administered modified Bruce protocol treadmill stress test and analyzed continuous EKG (8/1998- 9/2001), Sleep Study: recruited participants, measured vital signs and applied EEG equipment (06/1997-04/1998)

• Worked independently with study participants to schedule and perform off-site medical examinations (EKGs, vital signs, medical histories, bone density testing) in homes and extended care facilities for epidemiological study.

• Expedited patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Transcribed and maintained physician orders. Ensured accurate and timely communication between nursing staff and patients.
