Self care

Nursing is a highly stressful and emotionally draining job.

I practice self care in many ways, gardening is just one of many ways I take care of myself.

I participate in volunteer activities. I exercise to relieve stress. My favorite passion is repurposing " junk" items into art.

I participated in the Salvation Army Red Kettle Gala, donating a piece of my art for live auction. I'm quite proud

that it sold for $500.

Additional Information

With over 27 years of nursing experience, I am a highly- skilled caregiver of both high and low acuity patients, adults, children, and infants. My strong leadership skills, as well as my ability to multi-task efficiently and to manage crisis situations are my strongest qualities. I am a confident, effective communicator as evidenced by my interpersonal skills with patients and their families, nursing colleagues and physicians. I am a strong patient advocate and embrace diversity, equity and inclusion. I am seeking a position that allows me to utilize my nursing skills and provide opportunities for professional growth. .

Up until recently my nursing experience has been mostly working in a traditional inpatient hospital operating suite setting.

The OR atmosphere is unique challenging and requires quick thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle stressful situations as they arise. I no longer wish to fulfill the many added on call requirements as well as extensive weekend and holiday requirements.

I have tried other areas of nursing but have as of yet to find the right fit.

I strongly believe teamwork skills are vital to providing the best patient care experience and my extensive background experienced will certainly prove to be an asset for an ambulatory setting, clinical setting or even the right inpatient unit.
