Merck Research Laboratories - Cambridge, MA

  • Worked in the immunology platform on the macrophage polarization team studying different possible functional assays to determine the difference between M0 and M2 macrophages. Learned techniques such as MSD, RNA isolation, monocyte isolation from PBMC's, TaqMan PCR, Incucyte Nuclight, CellTiter Glo, cDNA synthesis, macrophage polarization, ELISA etc. Performed project analysis using MSD Workbench, GraphPad Prism and Signals Electronic Notebook. Learned proper industry standard laboratory techniques and methods.

Research Trainee, 06/2022 to 08/2022

MD Anderson Cancer Center - Houston, Texas

  • Worked with Research Assistant II, PhD Fellow, MD/PhD (PI) in the immunotherapy platform working with melanoma cancer. Developed a deep understanding of the experimental process and immunological research techniques including mice necropsy, splenocyte isolation, single cell suspension, single cell RNA sequencing, cell culturing, flow cytometry, ELISA, ChIP-sequencing, etc. Chose an antigen presentation assay in KDM6B deleted macrophages as final project and presented findings to laboratory PI and at MD Anderson immunology platform's laboratory meeting.

Research Intern, 06/2021 to 08/2021

Howard University (SURP) - Remote

  • Focused on studying white blood cells in Rhesus macaques with the goal of identifying the different types of white blood cells (WBC) in non-human primates (NHP) to determine a healthy monkey from a sick monkey. Project was led by Zooniverse where I reported my findings to their site.
