This is a 7- bed Emergency Room facility, an extension of THOP East Campus which is a Level II trauma hospital. It's a full- service hospital with 218- bed capacity with the ability to offer advanced emergency care for stroke, cardiac and trauma patients.
This is a 350- bed hospital in the process of attaining the Level III Trauma Center Designation and has a 20- bed ER. The main patient population that come to the ER are the senior adults as the hospital is located in the older settlement of the city,it is surrounded by several nursing homes in addition to a cardiac rehab facility on hospital"s fifth floor. The pediatric patients also get seen but are few, in the event of critical illness or specialty care they would be transferred to either THOP Memorial Campus or other facilities as appropriate.
Equipment used in this ER range from the basic items needed for blood draw and IV access, IO device for rapid vascular access in critical situations, ultra sound machine for FAST exam and difficult IV access, Alaris pumps for IV medication administration. For the hypothermic patients the bair hugger would be used to keep them warm and the Arctic Sun used to achieve hyperthermia in patients post successful resuscitation. This is a 500- bed hospital with a Level III Trauma center Designation. It has a 39- bed adult ER and a dedicated pediatric ER with 9 beds and equipped to provide both non- life threatening and critical emergency care for patients of all ages.
