I was the first clinician to be trained and riding with a CIT trained Prince William County Police Officer for the duration of my shift, responding to persons in crisis 911 calls within Prince William County. While on-scene I would:

• Provide emergency mental health intervention services
• Conduct screening interviews and make recommendations for level of care
• Provide outreach, assessment, linkage to and coordination with other service providers
• Provide crisis intervention for clients, including those at high risk for suicide/homicide- evaluate risk and potential need for hospitalization
• Develop and implement risk management plans
• Maintain records according to agency's policies and procedures, prepare reports
• Assisted with supervision and training of new clinicians, providing guidance on techniques, documentation standards, and ethical considerations in practice.

Developed safety plans to minimize crisis risk and intervene with specific procedures. Offered counseling and stabilization support to reintroduce calm in crisis situations. Assessed the risk to client, loved ones or members of the public through established evaluation procedures. Collected and documented information from each client about concerns and any available contextual details. Applied abilities in techniques like active listening and collaborative problem-solving to make a positive impact.
