WiFi Specialist (Contract Position)
Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU)
12.2014 - 11.2016
I was brought in to meet deadlines to ensure all old access points were replaced before the old wireless access points went end-of-life.
I helped design network layouts using Bluebeam, Autodesk, reviewing and marking up CAD files so that our Design and Construction team could put together an actionable cabling plan.
Conducted site and spectrum analysis, gauging whether or not 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz was sufficient around the OHSU campus. This included tasks to monitor signal degradation and apply solutions when needed to enhance network reliability.
Reviewed complex RF networks to identify and resolve performance issues.
I built and deployed Cisco 5520 Wireless Controllers. Configured WLANs/SSIDs, Mobility groups, Security Policies.
I maintained every Access Point within Cisco Prime along with floor plan management. I used the tools built into Prime to help solve many WiFi issues.
