Provides critical, 24/7 care to premature or critically ill newborns. Responsibilities include continuously monitoring vital signs, administering specialized medications and IV fluids, operating life-support equipment like ventilators, and guiding anxious parents through the healing and care process.

• Conduct head-to-toe physical assessments and monitor oxygen levels, heart rates, and respiratory functions.
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and manage equipment like incubators, feeding tubes, and ventilators.
• Calculate and carefully double-check precise, tiny dosages of IV fluids and medications.
• Teach parents how to handle, feed, and care for their vulnerable newborns, offering deep emotional support.
• Work closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and social workers to update patient charts and adjust care plans.

• Played a key role as a staff ICU RN, as part of the Rapid Response team that was responsible for responding to acute emergency on 4 different units of a level II trauma center and providing medical care to up to 3 acutely ill patients per shift in a 14 bed Unit. Assessed patients’ vital signs, notified attending physicians of changes, and facilitated physicians with emergent situations; educated patients and members of their family on disease prevention, wound care, and healthy lifestyle habits. Observed acutely ill patient conditions by monitoring arterial lines and interpreting telemetry rhythm strips. Operate and analyze invasive equipment, complex devices, and catheters such as CBI, gastrointestinal tubes, & central lines while collecting samples for laboratory testing.

Aided patients dealing with wound care needs, diabetes, amputations, multi-system complications, antibiotic therapy, CHF, sepsis, renal disease, and vascular disease.
