Worked as an outpatient pharmacy technician for penn medicine this year was the head of retail everyday on register, refills, counting pills, puttimg them in order, filling scripts, insurance, answering phones, making sure the nurses got medicine for the patients on the floor or that are leaving the hospital that they also when they have seen the doctor they come to us to get their medicine and i make sure of that. Heavy lifting and heavy duty also was a requirement standing all day and make sure everything all surrounding areas were clean.

  • I was rotating at this hospital inpatient and outpatient preparing packaging and delivering medications. I had to answer phones. Return calls. I had to compound sterile iv solutions and compounding in the pharmacy. I was managing inventory and fill dispensing cabinets under the pharmacists supervision with everything or lead technician. I have to also abide by safety and compliance first before anything i do. I had to make sure everything is sterile and clean in all areas. I have amazing communication skills with my coworkers and patients. I communicate very well my medication logistics to the pharmacists and to the nurses as i should. I have excellent computer skills as well doing insurance claims, billing, data entry, typing, research. I had to prepare iv mixtures for chemotherapy and vertical air hood flows. I had to lift packages up to 50 pounds or more. I really loved this job working inpatient because it really showed me exactly what it's like to be a pharmacy technician and taught me my strengths and weakness and how much medicine and the work we do really affects the patients as well. I love working as a team player and getting everything done together.
