Cardiovascular tech in busy cardiovascular/peripheral vascular lab. Duties included circulating, monitoring, and scrub assisting technician assisting interventional cardiologist, interventional radiologist, or vascular surgeon during all cardiovascular and vascular procedures.

Registered nurse in a cardiovascular/interventional radiology combination lab. Duties included administration of all medications including sedation narcotics, monitoring vital signs and ekgs, and maintaining airway throughout all medical procedures.

Staff nurse in busy interventional radiology department. Duties included preparing patients for all scheduled interventional radiology procedures. This involved rapid patient physical assessments upon their arrival to department, collecting patient medical information as well as procedure consents, obtaining iv access, drawing and interpreting all ordered lab work, as well as closely monitor and recovering all patients post procedure. Also functioned as a circulating nurse during most interventional procedures which included administration of sedation medications, monitoring vitals signs, and maintenance of patient airways. Also served as IV resource nurse for CT and MRI departments.

Staff nurse for busy urgent/acute care center which also included a separate 23hr clinical decision unit. Duties included rapid triage of all patients with medical stabilization if necessary, rapid transfer of unstable patients requiring a higher level of care, as well as functioning as a bedside nurse in a clinical decision unit for patients who met 23hr observation guidelines per Kaiser Permanente.

Circulated, monitored and scrubbed for all diagnostic and interventional cardiac, radiology, and vascular procedures to include peripheral cardiac and vascular angioplasty procedures, dialysis catheter placements, nephrostomy tube insertions, placement of ports and vascular access devices, and revascularization of lower extremities and fistulas. Also circulated and monitored patients in stress lab for exercise or medication induced cardiac stress tests,

Duties included triaging all patients for both urgent care and occupational medicine per employer guidelines. Assisted with stabilization of fractures by applying OCL splints when necessary, assisting physicians with laceration repairs, starting ivs with drawing of labwork when needed, and coordinating transportation of patients to higher levels of care when indicated. Occupational staff nurse required performing DOT mandated drug screens and labwork per employer guidelines, performing employee physicals, pulmonary function testing, administration of Titmus vision screening, hearing tests, and conducting ETOH breathalyzer exams when indicated.

Responsible for ensuring all Medicare, Medicaid, and privately insured patient admissions met CMS guidelines. Coordinated discharge modalities for all patients if necessary, which included arrangement of home healthcare, home IV therapy, deliverance of DME to homes when needed, nursing home placements, as well as arranging SNF placements with coordinating transportation when needed.
