  • Responsible for Navy-wide Navy Networks (NMCI, IT-21, OneNet) Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command (NCDOC) based out of Suffolk, VA for the sole purpose to transition from the NMCI network of a contractor controlled/operated to a government controlled/operated.
  • Supervised the evaluation, acquisition, configuration, and usage of software to ensure IT systems were secure from unauthorized use, viral infection, and other problems that would compromise sensitive information in terms of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Provided input to PMW-205 in the development of the NGEN Dashboard for NCDOC utilization. Reviewed detailed network analysis by reviewing network diagrams, intrusion characteristics, and preparing reports, Navy network incident data/logs for reporting to NCDOC personnel.
  • Duties included managing the life cycle and daily operational requirements of SOPM process for established NGEN network enclaves IAW the SOPM Manual and established standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Advised senior management regarding the integration of IT security programs with other programs of equivalent scope and complexity.
  • Reviewed NGEN tools to monitor enterprise core and end user services and document any abnormalities. Reviewed DCO Advisories and assessed responses to events based on mission impact and situational urgency. Performed Continual Service Improvement (CSI) and introduced corrective measures where necessary.
  • Managed and tracked reported Navy network/incidents via Navy Incident Navy Databases and Remedy systems to ensure the integrity and accuracy of related information.

Drafted Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), checklists, and instructional materials for end-users, and provided one-on-one and group training on shore and aboard the ship.
  • Created new user accounts; established and enforced all IA policies, implemented standards, and customized programs for local needs, as requested. Communicated complex technical requirements to non-technical customer audiences.
