The CARE Program is a program the City of Columbia, Missouri offers to those who are below the hiring age for most businesses. The job site I was assigned to work in the CARE program was an auto shop called Classic Whips. At this site, I was recognized for my dedication to my job and my ability to work efficiently. From this job, I gained a lot of knowledge and experience. I was fortunate enough to gain some mechanical knowledge about working on cars. Custodial work such as cleaning windows, washing rugs, cleaning restrooms, etc. was also a common task. Other experiences include lawn care such as weed eating, mowing, edging, bush trimming, and clearing out brush. As you can imagine, there was a lot of tire-related work as well. I did inventory on tires, plugged tires, put tires on rims, and cut a lot of tires. As you can see, I have plenty of experience from this job that offers many benefits in a work environment.
My Grandfather gifted me his 1964 Plymouth Valiant in October of 2020. I was 14 at the time and worked at a car shop. Through the people I knew at the shop I was able to get the car running. The car is now at my home where it is slowly being repaired and restored. I have already installed a new fuel tank, ran new fuel lines, installed a new fuel pump and filter, replaced the points on the ignition system, put new transmission cables in, replaced spark plugs, and much more. As you can imagine I still have a lot of working to do to fully fix this car. Soon I will weld in new floor pans and body panels that are rusted out. This project has helped me a ton with learning more about cars and expanding my mechanical knowledge.
I have been involved in scouts for twelve years now. For the past eight, I have been involved in Boy Scouts. From scouting, I have gained an extensive amount of experience and knowledge. Various skills I inherited from Scouts include: leadership skills, communication skills, planning, critical thinking, personal discipline, maturity, and being capable in emergency situations. All of these skills have benefited me in my life immensely. One achievement I take pride in is serving as the Senior Patrol Leader for my troop. What this entitled is the responsibility of leading the entire troop on camp outs, meetings, and other adventures for six months. I worked closely with adult leaders and did lots of planning to perfectly execute planned camp outs and activities. This leadership position is the highest available in a troop and gave me valuable leadership skills that I have carried forward into my personal life.

I've taken part of Science Olympiad for 4 years. Science Olympiad has always been something I enjoyed due to the fast paced nature and fun environment. There were a number of things I learned about from Science Olympiad such as knowledge of Wi-Fi systems, propagation, antennas, programming, and working with various sensors and electronics. I placed multiple times in both regional finals and once in state finals for Wi-Fi lab.
