  • As a fireplace installer, I would start each morning by collecting all the parts needed for the installation and loading them into the work vans. I would depart with a partner, and we would place the unit and run venting through the roof while ensuring clearances and any other zone safety regulations for the fireplace. Every install was different, and each person would be expected to work with the different circumstances to ensure everything was correctly set up. We would also return to previously installed units to start them up and explain to the customer how to operate their fireplace.

  • I started working as a line cook and eventually learned every role and position until I was able to run the locations myself. I learned much about customer service, managing inventory, maintenance, and preparation. Shifts would eventually start by counting the registers and ensuring that the employees arrive for their shifts on time. Pizza Hut would have great rushes that really tested the skills and determination of the team.
