Being a Girl Scout for over a decade has taught me about the valuable lessons of perseverance, team building, cooperation, patience, leadership, and many other life lessons. With Girl Scouts I've had the honor of travelling out of the Country, granted the opportunity to visit Costa Rica to assist in the rescue of freshly hatched sea Turtles. Adding, I've been able to visit the grand New York City, New York to learn about Broadway and experience wondrous buildings like the Alvin Ailey Dance Company to learn a routine from the play, "Wicked".
The Young People and Children Division, YPD, is an organization that prides giving the younger generation a chance to speak up for themselves, to make decisions and plan within the African Methodist Episcopal, AME, churches. For the past 4 years I've served as the Conference - the conference level overlooks 5 different states and well over 15 churches - Recording Secretary. Recently I've also been promoted on the local level - that only oversees Tanner Chapel - as their president. Through YPD I've head the honor in being in various positions of leadership and in multi-step planning processes.
