Summary

Tauquir Ahmed [b.1966] is a well known Bangladeshi film director, playwright and actor presently living in New York. While graduating from the department of Architecture in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, he started working in theatre as an actor and set designer, later turned a film director and playwright. In 2002 he obtained a diploma from New York film academy. Tauquir was awarded the Royal Court theatre London's summer school fellowship in 1995 and had theatre director's training at university of theatre of nations, Seoul, South Korea. He is an acclaimed film and theatre director in Bangladesh; he has received six national awards along with several international awards. His films has travelled in many reputed international festivals in USA,UK, Russia, Germany, Italy, Tunisia, Iran, India, Sri-lanka, Kosovo, china, Korea, Cambodia, Switzerland, France. In all areas of work, Tauquir deals with human issues like freedom, injustice, sufferings, displacement, migration, climate change and celebration of life.
