My role as project manager at this company made me responsible for scheduling man power, setting a project time line, procuring material for the job, and making sure we completed the job under hours and under budget. We installed a wide variety of systems like Burglar alarms, access control, and CCTV. I attended construction meetings and kept the customers updated on changes and progress.

I also, ran quality control on my own jobs as well as most other jobs this company completed. I was responsible for making sure the installation was up to the standards the company had set. I would document any and all work performed whether good or bad and would apply that to a presentation for each job.

As a project manager for this company, I was responsible for hiring and managing sub contractors for large construction projects. Top Golf was our biggest client and my main focus. We installed all the structured cabling, fiber, and AV for Top Golf. I worked closely with Top Golfs IT project managers on these projects. Keeping them up to date on progress, issues, and solutions.

I would attend a pre construction meeting and get a feel for how the job site was going to flow and created a schedule and time lines based on that. I would proof read drawings and make adjustments. I would have to coordinate with our procurement department to make sure the material would be on site by the start date and inventory everything.

Managing subs meant keeping up with their weekly time sheets, making weekly visits to job sites all over the country, and occasionally lending them a hand if they needed it. I also booked their flights and arranged for them to have rental cars and hotels wherever they may be going.

My site visits consisted of walking the entire and ensuring the install was on point as well as checking other trades work that they were providing us. I would take all my findings and make a report for the customer and our records. I wrote up and submitted change orders on any work that was out of scope and worked closely with the superintendent and other trade formans on site to make sure everything was being installed correctly.

Other duties I had here were building out our AV racks that we shipped to site pre made and configured to ensure a seamless install.

I learned most of my structured cabling back ground with this company. I pulled CAT5, CAT6, coax, fiber, and multi-pair. From the most basic small office to large multi-floor job sites, I experienced it all here.

We installed products manufactured by Panduit, comscope, Ortronics, and Belden. We built out every IT closet consisting of 2 or 4 post racks and separated and dressed all the cable before terminating them on to patch panels. We also installed switches, servers, and UPS's.

I performed closet clean ups, where we would come into a data center or a customers IT room and document and label every patch cord, then unplug and dress all the patch cables neatly back in.

I learned how to terminate fiber using multiple methods. for example polished fiber, fusion splicing, and corning uni-cams.

We did a lot of demarc extensions as well using 25 - 50 pair from where the service provider came into the building.
