LAW ENFORCEMENT OPERATIONS: Provide law enforcement and emergency response for Fort-Hamilton and surrounding area to protect and maintain order for soldiers, civilians, and family members. Patrol assigned area to enforce federal, state, and local laws and to detect, prevent, and investigate law violations, fires, and disturbances. Respond to calls for assistance and reports of misconduct, criminal activity, traffic accidents, and other emergencies. Take immediate action to deal with criminal activity and detain, restrain, search, and arrest suspects, advising them of their constitutional rights. Protect the civil rights of all individuals entering and working on federal property. Perform crowd control, respond to bomb threats, and conduct search and seizures. LEADERSHIP AND ACCOUNTABILITY: Account for $2M in sensitive equipment, such as vehicle radios, night-vision devices, and thermal sights. Counsel soldiers monthly and quarterly on work performance and during special events and projects. Provide primary marksmanship instruction for all weapons systems. Apply expertise in meeting and dealing with physically and mentally ill patients, visitors, employees, vendors, juveniles, and unruly individuals. Account for and operated M4 Carbine, M9 Beretta, M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW), M240B machine gun, M2 .50 caliber machine gun, Mk 19 grenade launcher, M320 grenade launcher, M26 shotgun, M1117 Armored Service Vehicle (ASV), M1114 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), and ballistic vest and helmet. SECURITY AND INVESTIGATION FUNCTIONS: Perform security operations, base defense, and entry control to defend personnel, equipment, and resources from hostile forces. Implement physical protection and access control measures to protect government, military, and civilian personnel, property, and visitors. Incorporate composite risk management into all security activities, ensuring proper planning and execution of security patrols. Use screening equipment and manual methods to detect the presence of unauthorized personnel and activities. Operate communications equipment, vehicles, intrusion-detection equipment, weapons, and other special-purpose equipment. Conduct investigations, gather and preserve evidence, question witnesses and principals, and prepare preliminary reports. Perform crime scene assessments and apply knowledge of rules of search and seizure and arrest warrant obtainment to initiate investigations.

• TRAFFIC CONTROL AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE: Enforce traffic regulations on and off base, in parking lots and surrounding areas, and issued tickets to traffic violators. Respond to emergency calls such as vehicle or other accidents, fires, domestic disturbances, and severe weather events. Direct and assist individuals to safety areas. Rescue and render first aid to the injured, and summon ambulances and other emergency and law enforcement vehicles.
  

INFORMATION AND REPORTS: Compile information and written reports to document law enforcement actions, investigations, and accidents. Prepare various records, including officer’s daily activity log and case files.

TANK AND GUNNER OPERATIONS: Operated tanks and light-armor vehicles during combat situations, executing tactical maneuvers of assigned tank and controlling the distribution of onboard weapon. As Gunner,operated main gun controls and firing controls, adjusting fire as instructed. Prepared and operated radio communication equipment. Used operations and situation maps and overlays and read and interpreted maps and aerial photographs to determine the location and strength of friendly and enemy units. Inspected tank turret and automotive components for

• Malfunctions and assisted in the performance of tank maintenance. Participated in ammunition resupply operations, including request, receipt, storage, inspection, and issue of ammunition. LEADERSHIP AND ACCOUNTABILITY: Provided leadership and ensured the health, welfare, morale, safety, discipline, training, and technical and tactical proficiency of two subordinate soldiers. Accounted for the maintenance, readiness, and tactical employment of an M1A2 Abrams Main Battle tank and a variety of weapons and equipment such as M240B/C machine gun, M249 SAW, M4 carbine, M203 grenade launcher, M9 pistol, M2 .50 caliber machine gun, M500 shotgun, AN/PVS 14 night-vision monocle, AN/PEQ 2 infrared laser target pointer, ballistic vest, and ballistic helmet.
