Additional Information

I assess phonemic awareness, fluency, and comprehension, and teach reading strategies based on my students’ unique needs. It is essential to understand how a child learns to read in order to teach a struggling reader., I taught writing skills that included basic writing mechanics and grammar, brainstorming and planning, organization of ideas and concepts, and editing. Showing students that producing quality writing involves a step-by-step process is imperative to improving student’ writing abilities., I have tutored students at the primary math level. When a student was struggling with basic number sense, I developed a plan to help teach the concepts that the student is seeing in the classroom as well as the gaps that have developed over the years.
