• Assist surgeon in the operating room and facilitate preparation of back table and instrumentation according to surgeon’s preference.
• Perform “First Assist” duties including suturing
• Assist the Circulator and other team members in obtaining the equipment and supplies, patient transfer, and room readiness for the scheduled procedure.
• Ensure seamless procedural execution of most surgical specialties including Cesarean section, gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, abdominal, gastrointestinal, laparoscopic gastric bypass, plastics, minor vascular, orthopedics, urology, pace makers and defibrillator procedures, and general cases.
• Collaborated with SPD on implementing new orthopedic tray solutions and designations to mitigate equipment shortages between cases
• Assist with patient care and vitals and phlebotomy as well as collect and prepare specimens
• Assist with patient and family education
• Performed preventative maintenance on emergency equipment
• Preceptor for new hires and students
