Work History

Engineer Tech III

VA Department of Motor Vehicles
04.2018 - Current
  • My job duties include ensuring the safety of motorists and the protection of Virginia's highways by monitoring overweight and oversized trucks which include weighing and inspecting commercial vehicles for compliance with regulation, enforcing requirements for the use of dyed diesel fuel, IFTA, IRP, UCR, HUT, and report vehicle and traffic problems. I am also required to prepare safety violation information, issue citations concerning state truck laws, and perform a combination of data collection/analysis duties to facilitate law enforcement activities for the monitoring of size and weight regulations and liquidated damages processing. I may testify in court on disputed citation or provide expert witness testimony, reinstate suspended companies, or suspend operation authority and run transcripts as needed. I took the lead and helped coordinate the operation of citation issuing and daily functions of the East Bound scales within a van to maintain our mission as a weigh station when West Bound was under maintenance.
I have also assisted with the training of new and current employees in the daily functions of our station to ensure established goals and targets are met. My fellow co-workers often look to me when coordinating operations when our immediate supervisor is unavailable. They look to me as a technician to maintain a designated schedule and keep the operation operational. This allowed us to achieve departmental goals and become Team of the Year.

Work Leader, Customer Contact Center

VA Department of Motor Vehicles
06.2011 - 04.2018
  • My job duties consisted standing in as needed in the absence of any supervisor or when one or more may have been unavailable. I have knowledge of Help Desk procedures and provided assistance to Customer Service Centers, DMV Select offices, and other Customer Contact Center agents as needed. I have also stood in as a trainer when one was unavailable to train new agents in a classroom setting. I delivered excellent customer service solutions in a friendly and knowledgeable manner according to our TRAIT core values which included processing customer transactions using multiple PC screens, experience with credit cards, being familiar with inventory, policies, procedures, regulations, and providing leadership and direction to all full time and wage employees in performing daily work activities. I also coached team members in skill development, resulting in enhanced job performances and career growth. This allowed me to lead a diverse team of professionals, fostering an environment of collaboration and high performance.
