congregations in Bastrop. I wrote a front page feature about a center facing budget cuts that helped children of abused households.

As a reporter with the Washington post metro desk, I received mostly deadline assignments. In some occaisions the desk published several by-line stories by me in one edition. I was given mostly daily deadline material. My assignment to the metro desk was awarded to me under the
auspices of a internship.
As a news aid for the Southwest Bureau of the Washington post i worked with pulitzer prize-winning journalist David Maraniss. After being hired by Maraniss I was commissioned to write about the Immigration and Control Act of 1986 signed by Ronald Reagan. Maraniss and I wrote a series of articles documenting a families progress in seeking amnesty
under the new immigration law. After completing a year of
employment with the bureau I was assigned to work at the
metro desk in Washington DC.
As a reporter with the Austin American-Statesman I was assigned to general assignments and worked night-time and week-end police beat. My assignment as a reporter with the
Austin American-Statesman was under the assignment of an
intern.
