In the course of my almost 19.5 years with Cigna I have been in a variety of Positions.
*Assisting patients with refilling their maintenance medications.
* Then onto the Inbound Specialty
department. There I would take inbound calls and refill prescription's as well as fax the Patients Dr for new ones that were needed.
* From there I was approached to join the Outbound Specialty team. Here is where I would make outbound calls to the Patients to onboard them to Cigna Specialty.They may have been Mandatory mail order or in some cases not required to use Cigna.Also, part of the position was to answer incoming calls for refills of medications,fax their Doctors and review with them what their out of pocket cost for the medication may be and to offer them copay assistance information when needed.
*From Cigna and after the merger with Accredo I was on the ACT team. as part of ACT there were a variety of things to do. We were assigned what we were doing for the day. Whatever we did for the day the end goal was the same. To educate the Patient on Accredo's benefits and to onboard them to the Pharmacy.
* My current position as a PCA on the newly established Prolastin team has been somewhat groundbreaking. The medication is 100% new to the company and the team has gone through many trials and errors. A major learning experience for everyone. On this team we handle primarily the medication which is life sustaining to thousands of people. We take inbound calls to refill and also fax Dr's
for new Prescriptions.We educate the Patients on the benefits of Accredo, get them onboarded and can also message or call the Home infusion Nurses to set up in home nursing for the Patients.
