Responsible for supporting day-to-day continuous patient safety improvement. Develops and implements strategies to identify and reduce risk, improve safety, and meet regulatory requirements. Coaches others in patient safety improvement capabilities, with emphasis on process redesign and measurement. Leads cause analysis teams to improve work processes to prevent patient harm. Leads and participates in system committees focused on sentinel serious events. Serves as a consultant to various committees to ensure patient safety is integrated across the continuum of care. Analyze trends through metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Plans. Prepares and coordinates presentations and educational opportunities for new employees and providers related to patient safety strategies.

Leads quality incentives by assessment of event reports and audits. When areas of improvement are identified corrective actions plans and root cause analysis are completed to improve programs outcomes. Responsible for creation and presentation of annual report to show past year progress and areas of improvement. Gathers, assesses and inputs data into a quarterly dashboard to present to monthly quality program meeting. Preparing program for reaccreditation with submission of application and preparation of program for onsite visit. Assessing that the program policies align with accreditation standards making changes to policies when deemed necessary. Making sure program is practicing within established accreditation standards.

Manages quality program to ensure that SSM St Louis Interventional Radiology Region is practicing within standards and regulatory requirements. Collects and assesses data to identify areas for opportunity in turn collaborating with Medical Directors, Imaging Directors and Modality Leaders on improvement processes. Serve as expert resource to nursing staff through training and development of competencies. Identifies issues related to performance through

project objectives and timelines to improve processes, and compliance of best practice standards.

Data abstraction , review , submission and validation of data elements obtained from the electronic health record. In turn, working closely with members of department of surgery to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement initiatives. Initiatives include superficial surgical site infection improvement in pediatric surgical patients , and lead monthly meetings with quality department and surgeons on data trends.

Provided direct patient care including assessment, planning implementation, and evaluation based on patient diagnoses and needs. Educator to families and patients on surgical procedures and diagnosis. Utilized critical thinking to provide individualized care for patients based on individual needs. Care of patients receiving outpatient surgical procedures specific to age and procedure of individual patient. Care included serving as a patient advocate, and staff educator of surgical procedures. Responsibilities included positioning of patient, skin preparation, instrumentation handling and oversight of sterile techniques.

Care of Peri-operative patients including patient comfort, reassurance, and education of surgical procedures according to age specific needs, patient and family advocate.
