Work History

Co-Lead Mesa Agent Based Model Library

Mesa
07.2018 - Current

Develop and implement strategy to make Mesa the Agent Based Model Library of choice for the globe. Throughout my time as co-lead, I reformed and improved processes from management to technical processes. I improved volunteer recruitment, increasing Mesa's reliable contributor based from 2 to 7, with a corresponding doubling in occasional contributors. I improved technical workflows, making sure releases occurred faster and more effectively. I got Mesa, to be the only Agent Based Model library that is NumFOCUS affiliated. I successfully, got Mesa selected to Google Summer of Code with three interns, while most new libraries only get one or at most two their first year. I successfully created Mesa network that reaches out to academic institutions all over North America and the Europe. I developed the strategy to create the Agent Based Model ecosystem, a non-trivial challenge that if successful will be able to create a powerful new artificial intelligence approach.

Dean

National Intelligence University
11.2021 - 08.2024

Responsible for the quality of learning, curriculum and research of the Oettinger School of Science and Technology Intelligence. In my tenure, I reformed the curriculum assessment and development process. I reshaped the faculty culture to ensure processes enabled substantive thinking about the curriculum, technology integration and competitive advantage. I influenced the views of the faculty to embrace student centered learning versus teacher centered learning, improving the quality of learning so graduates would be more effective problem solvers in a increasingly complex changing world. I integrated faculty more effectively into the Intelligence Community and shaped a path for the Oettinger School to be the thoughts leaders for technology integration in the U.S. Government. I led research that looked at technology and technology integration throughout the Intelligence Community and the U.S. national security enterprise.
